RJE Telecom, LLC, a dynamic, cutting edge telecommunications engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Outside Plant (OSP) Telecommunications Engineer for the Maryland/Virginia area. The OSP Telecommunications Engineer is responsible for the design, field notes, pricing and drafting of both copper and fiber facilities. Prior Verizon experience is preferred.



The OSP Telecommunications Engineer is responsible for the design, field notes, pricing and drafting of both copper and fiber facilities.

OSP Telecommunications Engineer candidate with prior Verizon experience is preferred.


  • Engineering routine and specific outside plant work orders utilizing any combination of aerial, buried or underground cable
  • Fiber optic cable engineering
  • Visit customer sites to gather OSP site survey information, evaluate customer requirements.
  • Daily engagement with customer’s engineering team and project management staff via emails / phone as well as occasional in-person meetings
  • Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to regulations and policies 



  • Strong engineering skills
  • Outside plant design for business-as-usual (BAU)
  • Copper and Fiber design of Telecommunications Plant
  • Knowledge of obtaining permits
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Effective communication skills
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours; overtime and weekends as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation and a clean driving record 


Preferred Qualifications:  Auto CAD, IDDS, ICGS and or VBuild Experience
