RJE Telecom, LLC, a dynamic, cutting edge telecommunications engineering firm, is seeking an experienced telecommunication Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer for the Winchester, VA area. The OSP Engineer is responsible for designing outside plant work orders and provide necessary field and administrative support. Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate to the Winchester, Virginia area.



This position requires the candidate to reside in the Winchester, VA area so relocating to the area is a requirement. Candidate must have knowledge of current Verizon systems. This position requires both field and home office work.


  • Design outside plant work orders.
  • Provide administrative and field support to the outside plant provisioning process.
  • Must be familiar with the various communications outside plant engineering concepts (e.g. copper cable, fiber optic cable and coax cable).
  • Must be able to utilize facility analysis process to select areas for rehabilitation.
  • Responsible for coordinating field work.
  • Prepare work order drawings and documentation, updating work order records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Provide work order estimated expenditures and/or placement and joint use memos.
  • All other duties as may be assigned.



  • Requires HS diploma or equivalent
  • Advanced knowledge of outside plant design
  • Knowledge of telephone industry standards, accessing, reading and interpreting mechanized assignment records
  • Knowledge is required to understand infrastructure plans and survey information for the elimination and prevention of conflicts with existing or proposed underground, site obstacles, and for proper installation location within easements and public rights of way
  • Knowledge of PC software package tools, including word processing (i.e. Word, Excel, Power Point). OSP record and/or computer aided drafting systems
  • Able to interact with all on-line computer systems that Verizon requires
  • Knowledgeable with respect to all municipal and governmental requirements for all work performed
