Overview

RJE Telecom, LLC, a dynamic, cutting edge telecommunications engineering firm, is seeking an experienced Turnkey Outside Plant (OSP) Engineer for the Greensboro, NC area. The Turnkey OSP Engineer is responsible for the design, pricing and drafting of both copper and fiber facilities. This involves all aspects of OSP Engineering, including pole replacement, customer and road relocations, new service order build outs, Ethernet, FTTx, etc. This position requires both field and home office work.

Overview:

The Turnkey OSP Engineer is responsible for the design, field notes, pricing and drafting of both copper and fiber facilities.  This involves all aspects of OSP Engineering, including pole replacement, customer and road relocations, new service order build outs, Ethernet, FTTx, etc.  It is the Turnkey OSP Engineer’s responsibility to perform cost analysis to determine the most cost-effective solution during design.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for work order packet creation which includes field notes, drafting in NDS and creating construction prints
  • Work with municipalities to acquire permits, ROW, etc.
  • Develops plans for new plant construction and/or upgrading existing construction plant
  • Monitors the project during early and late stages of design and construction
  • Ensure the most cost-effective solution is being utilized
  • Monitors and controls project expenditures
  • Face of the customer- positive interactions with internal and external customers

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years design experience in the telecom industry, high focus on fiber technology
  • Working knowledge of CAD applications
  • Proficient in Microsoft and G suite platforms
  • Lumen/CenturyLink experience **plus**
  • Self-motivated, Energetic, Technical background
  • Outside plant knowledge (fiber and copper build, FTTx, pole line construction)
  • Experience with NDS, WFMT, MARTENS, GLM, ARMOR, TIRKS, etc. **plus**
  • Read and interpret DOT plans, be able to identify any conflicts with the existing facilities and find resolution in the most cost-effective way
  • Willingness to travel within the customers territory


This position requires both field and home office work.  Must live in or be willing to travel to the CenturyLink/Lumen territory in the Greensboro, NC area.
